An extensively revised and completely reset new edition of one of the most successful African language dictionaries ever published in South Africa. Originally compiled by the late Dr T. J. Kriel, a highly respected educationist and authority on the Northern Sotho (Sepedi) language, this book has been a steady seller since first published in 1971. The main aims of the revision were to make the dictionary even more user friendly than before and to bring it thoroughly up to date. Almost 3 000 new words have been added, and spelling – both in English and Northern Sotho – has been brought in line with contemporary usage. No knowledge of grammatical rules is presupposed and the user can look up all words directly.
