NB Publishers publishes its dictionaries under the imprint Pharos Dictionaries. Pharos has its own team of lexicographers who are continually developing new products in order to keep up with the rapidly changing needs of South African dictionary users.

Pharos specialises in Afrikaans language and Afrikaans-English dictionaries, but has an ever-growing list of bilingual and multilingual titles that reflect the full complexity of the South African language landscape. In addition, Pharos also publishes technical dictionaries, reference books, guides and dictionaries for crossword puzzle enthusiasts.

Pharos is also known for its digital products andonline library. This library includes a large variety of technical dictionaries and is continually expanded as new titles become available.

The new, updated and extended edition of the Woordeboek vir die Gesondheidswetenskappe / Dictionary for the Health Sciences was revised under the supervision of Prof. Jan Lochner (University of Stellenbosch), with the assistance of at least 30 experts over the entire spectrum of the various medical disciplines.
